BTS Group rated “A -” in CDP assessment for 2022: Highest within Thailand rail transport field

December 20th , 2022, Bangkok - BTS Group Holdings Public Company Limited, or BTS Group, has received an "A-" rating in Climate Change Management in the 2022 CDP assessment. The evaluation makes BTS Group the first and only rail transport company in Thailand to be ranked with the highest score within the "Leader" category, receiving a rating of "A-", with "A" being the highest rating. With this year as the Company's second consecutive year to be ranked, the Company was able to improve from its previous score, with the 2021 rating of "B". The company has also been ranked a "Leader" among Thailand's eight frontrunner companies. The assessment reviewed more than 9,863 companies worldwide with 60 companies from Thailand.

Founded in 2000, CDP is a public interest organisation that plays a key role in promoting standards and driving disclosure of environmental management reports regarding three issues: Climate Change, Water Security, and Forest Management. CDP's assessment is trusted by investors as a resource for making investment decisions. The assessment results include eight ranks, ranging from A to D-. In 2022, the average climate change score for organisations in Asia was C with the rail transport industry average being B.

Since the commencement of its electric train services in 1999, BTS Group has remained committed to ensuring sustainable operations. Contributing to Thailand's drive towards a low-carbon economy, BTS Group formulated its long-term strategy to deal with climate change, set its goal to remain carbon neutral and continuously strives towards its improvement in energy efficiency, mandating a minimum of 10% for the proportion of electricity consumption from renewable energy sources across its entire operations. BTS Group's goals and achievements are reflected in this year's CDP "Leadership" rating.
