Measures to prevent the possible spread of MERS

Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC), a core business of the BTS Group, recently announced passenger safety measures to prevent the possible spread of the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS), in the BTS SkyTrain System.

Measures include the disinfectant spray treatment of all trains while out of service and prior to entering daily service, as well as station facilities such as Ticket Offices, Ticket Issuing Machines (TIM), ATMs, stair and escalator handrails etc., which will be cleaned more frequently. In addition, all BTS service staff, security personnel and cleaners, will wear masks while on duty. The Company will also provide alcohol based hand wash liquid for passenger use at all BTS stations, to ensure safety while traveling in the BTS SkyTrain System.

In compliance with government health directives and as a major provider of public transportation, the Company is committed to implementing such measures in order to prevent the possible spread of MERS and assure passenger safety.
