Progress on the 5.3 km SkyTrain Silom Line Extension ( Wongwian Yai – Bang Wa )

At a ceremony held recently at the Ballroom of the Eastin Makkasan Hotel Bangkok, the Operational and Maintenance Services Agreement for the Bangkok Mass Transit Project 5.3 km Silom Line Extension (Wongwian Yai – Bang Wa ) , was signed between the Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited ( BTSC ), a core business of the BTS Group, and Krungthep Thanakom Company Limited ( KT ), an enterprise owned by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

BTSC has been appointed to operate and maintain the Silom Line Extension for commercial service , comprising of four new stations at Pho Nimit, Ratchada -Ratchapruek, Wuthakat and Bang Wa. All civil, electrical and mechanical works for the Silom Line extension, have been invested by Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, with completion scheduled for 2012.
